Vitality website FAQS

What is the relationship between Vitality Age and actual age?
Vitality and the Sports Science Institute of South Africa have developed the Vitality Age tool to measure risk-related age. Younger people with increased health risks can 'age' their bodies prematurely. Older people who eat healthily, manage their stress levels and have a healthier lifestyle will have a younger Vitality Age than their real age. The ideal Vitality Age should be equal to or slightly less than one's real age.
Does my Vitality Age remain fixed, or can it change?
Vitality Age is calculated based on certain indicators including body mass index (BMI), smoking, physical activities, alcohol consumption, daily intake of fruit and vegetables, cholesterol level, blood pressure level and incidence of diabetes. During an assessment, your Vitality Age may change depending on the status of these indicators as provided by you at the time of completing the assessment. A healthy diet and regular exercise can help you lower your Vitality Age.
Can an online assessment reflect my current physical and mental status accurately?
If your answer objectively reflects your physical condition at the time of completing the assessment, the assessment can reflect your actual physical and mental status accurately. This can be used for reference and advice.
Do you only accept check-up reports issued by Ikang, Meinian or Ciming? Are check-up reports issued by other centers acceptable?
A check-up report issued by any qualified medical provider is acceptable and recognized. If you choose Ikang or Meinian you will not need to mail the check-up reports to us. To find out more about the delivery of check-up reports, refer to the introduction on "checkups".
Can laboratory sheets be used for points?
A check-up report issued by any qualified medical provider is acceptable and recognized. However, laboratory sheets issued by hospitals cannot be used for points.
My check-up report cannot be used for BMI bonus points since it does not include basic data such as height and weight. Can I submit a new check-up report for the bonus points?
You can submit a new check-up report for these points. However, you will not receive points for items for which you have already been given points.
